Metropoliticians (1995)
04:14
(notes & commentary) Originally the first track that appeared on side A of Haltown 2, it also gave an early shout out to "Soulman" (Baritone Tiplove, Phill Most Chill) who also influenced the production and sound of Haltown 2 (as can be seen from the front cover & artwork) - "Metropoliticians" was a nod & acknowledgement to Spoonie Gee's influence.

(notes and commentary) The earliest demo of this summajam dates back to 1991 as a demo titled "Shoo-fly" by Mod'ren World Thang and was influenced by Prince Pauls production De La Soul's "Rollerskating Jam named Saturdays" - it was eventually scrapped and revisited / updated in 1994 and released on Deep 9 compilation "This Side Up" one month before Haltown 2 was released.

Red Rova (Remix)

(notes and comments) This unbleeped version was the backlash of the absence of Jorun's credit / acknowledgement on Hip Club Grooves 1994 album on Sloan's label "murderrecords" and upon performing this version live it sparked a battle at Cafe Ole between Cheklove & MC SKillz which was fully recorded & released on the "Haltown Live" album.
