about

Originally titled "Summajam" by Witchdoc & Flexxman (as a vocal version), this was the most popular track on Haltown 2 compilation. Due to signing a bad publishing deal in 1996, the "Summajam" title was dropped and it was released as an instrumental / bonus beats on the "Jorun's Way" 7 inch vinyl in 2005. It has appeared on mixtapes worldwide but its most popular appearances were from DJ Jazzy Jeff (on "Super 7's) and DJ Skratch Bastid.

7 inch vinyl of this release is still available. PM for inquiries.

lyrics

(notes and commentary) The earliest demo of this summajam dates back to 1991 as a demo titled "Shoo-fly" by Mod'ren World Thang and was influenced by Prince Pauls production De La Soul's "Rollerskating Jam named Saturdays" - it was eventually scrapped and revisited / updated in 1994 and released on Deep 9 compilation "This Side Up" one month before Haltown 2 was released.
